About the position

As a Program Manager II in Supply and Demand Planning at Google, you will be at the forefront of managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects that are essential to the success of our cloud infrastructure. Your role will involve leading projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the process. You will work closely with various teams across the organization, coordinating efforts that span different offices, time zones, and hemispheres. Your ability to communicate effectively and manage project schedules will be crucial in identifying risks and driving projects forward. In this position, you will develop and implement supply and demand models that not only manage costs and inventories but also enhance service levels. You will be responsible for presenting your recommendations to leadership, ensuring that decisions are made based on clear and concise communication. Establishing and utilizing statistical models, processes, and software tools will be part of your daily tasks as you evaluate the supply chain's capability to meet customer demand. You will lead demand and supply planning meetings with cross-functional teams, reviewing supply and demand risks, mitigation options, and service level goals. Your collaborative approach will be essential in driving the resolution of supply chain exceptions or escalations in a timely manner. Additionally, you will spearhead cross-functional projects aimed at implementing new capabilities and improving existing processes across the organization. This role is not just about managing projects; it's about making a significant impact on how Google operates and delivers its services to users around the globe.

Responsibilities

  • Develop supply and demand models that manage costs and inventories while maintaining or improving service levels, and present recommendations to leadership.
  • Establish and utilize statistical models, processes, and software tools in evaluating the supply chain's ability to meet customer demand.
  • Lead demand and supply planning meetings with cross-functional teams, reviewing supply, demand risks, mitigation options, and service level goals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and drive resolution of supply chain exceptions or escalations in a timely manner.
  • Drive cross-functional projects or programs to implement new capabilities and improve existing ones across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience in manipulating, analyzing, and synthesizing sets of data, and distilling it into key insights and concepts.
  • Experience in Demand Planning, Forecasting, and integrated business planning.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in data modeling, trend analysis, statistics, forecasting, or business insights.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence across multiple levels of an organization with experience leading cross-functional process improvements.
  • Ability to manage accountability and ownership for project life-cycle, with knowledge of the tools and elements of project management.
  • Ability to work as part of a team composed of both technical and non-technical members.
