About the position

The Program Manager position at the University of Cincinnati's College of Arts and Sciences focuses on managing and developing programs that bridge biology and engineering. This role supports a National Science Foundation ITEST grant aimed at educating students and training teachers in transdisciplinary concepts. The position involves overseeing various educational initiatives, including in-school programs for high school students and summer internships, while ensuring effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, design, develop, modify, and present educational programs.
  • Perform program needs assessments and make recommendations.
  • Implement policies and procedures related to program management.
  • Maintain budget, prepare contracts, and monitor expenditures.
  • Act as a liaison to internal departments, external entities, and community organizations.
  • Prepare and edit reports, newsletters, and develop publication materials.
  • Provide direct and/or indirect supervision to staff, including hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate activities with high schools and other stakeholders, supporting scheduling and organization of programmatic activities.
  • Support student hiring and payments, and conduct other project-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in education, engineering-related, or biology-related fields.
  • Three (3) years of relevant work experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage time efficiently.
  • High aptitude for learning new tasks quickly and problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a team setting.

Nice-to-haves

  • MS/MEd or PhD/EdD degree in biology, engineering, and/or STEM education.
