About the position

The Program Manager of Maintenance Engineering at ZAGG Inc. is responsible for leading critical programs focused on Quality Improvement and Cost Engineering. This role ensures the performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of mophie's products post-launch by collaborating with quality and production engineers and cross-functional teams to implement engineering changes that enhance product quality and reduce costs without compromising performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Quality Improvement Program for existing products, focusing on enhancing product reliability, performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor post-launch product quality metrics, including return rates, failure rates, and customer complaints, to identify areas for improvement.
  • Drive root cause analysis for product failures and implement corrective actions (CAPA) in collaboration with quality, engineering, and customer service teams.
  • Develop and manage continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring all engineering changes are thoroughly tested and validated before implementation.
  • Track program progress, providing regular updates and reports to senior leadership on quality improvement projects.
  • Lead and manage the Cost Engineering Program, identifying opportunities to reduce product costs without sacrificing quality or performance.
  • Partner with supply chain, manufacturing, and product design teams to optimize component selection, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed engineering changes, ensuring a balance between cost savings and maintaining product integrity.
  • Manage cost reduction projects through all phases, including concept development, prototyping, testing, and production implementation.
  • Work closely with suppliers to identify cost-saving opportunities in the procurement of materials and components.
  • Continuously evaluate and report on the status and financial impact of cost engineering initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a quality and/or cost management role in consumer goods, preferably in consumer electronics.
  • Proven experience managing complex engineering programs with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to understand and address product design, manufacturing, and quality issues.
  • Proficient in project management tools and methodologies.
