About the position

The Mobile and Web Program Manager will act as a transformational leader overseeing multiple Mobile and Web projects and programs that implement digital-first technology solutions associated with Honda's diverse products and services. This role is pivotal in driving the successful delivery of initiatives, identifying interdependencies, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. The Program Manager will lead the enterprise-wide digital product strategy, planning, and development, managing multi-million dollar software and operations budgets. They will be responsible for securing executive approval and deploying products and enhancements through all phases of project management or agile methodologies. In this capacity, the Program Manager will develop, lead, and deliver innovative business initiatives that benefit customers, dealers, and associates. They will represent and advocate for IT and business interests in strategic planning, product development, and solution management, ensuring alignment across all internal business units and corporate strategies. The role requires delivering complex digital innovations that necessitate tiered release management, organizational change management, and comprehensive communication plans across various business units and external stakeholders, including field teams, dealers, customers, and business partners. The Program Manager will provide leadership to a complex organization that includes associates, contingent staff, professional services, and vendor partners located both on-shore and off-shore. A strong background in successfully delivering complex Mobile and Web projects is essential, along with deep customer empathy, strong execution capabilities, and a data-driven decision-making mindset. The incumbent will also be expected to build strong business partnerships and align with stakeholders at all levels, from executives to front-line staff.

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise-wide digital product strategy, planning, and development in Mobile and Web projects and programs.
  • Manage multi-million dollar software and operations budgets.
  • Secure executive approval and deploy products and enhancements through all project phases.
  • Develop and deliver innovative business initiatives benefiting customers, dealers, and associates.
  • Advocate for IT and business in strategic planning and product development.
  • Deliver complex digital innovations requiring tiered release management and organizational change management.
  • Provide leadership to a complex organization comprised of associates, contingent staff, and vendor partners.
  • Direct management and execution of responsibilities to appropriate Program and Project leads, Business Analysts, Architects, Developers, Testers, Scrum Masters, and Business Owners.
  • Collaborate with executives and stakeholders to define strategy, objectives, and implementation goals.
  • Present project proposals and updates to senior management, communicating project impediments and collaborating for resolution.
  • Create an effective organization through development, coaching, and mentoring of the team.
  • Manage product budget and maintain external vendor relationships.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in computer sciences, electronics/electrical engineering, data sciences, AI, information technology, or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of management experience in leading technology solution implementation and critical business process improvement efforts.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic settings.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills to prioritize and resolve competing initiatives ensuring strategic alignment.
  • Ability to lead major complex programs from initiation through implementation.
  • Proven ability to synthesize information quickly and deliver practical initiatives covering people, processes, tools, and organization.
  • Program financial understanding and scope estimating experience.
  • Experience with Mobile and web digital business programs.
  • Strong IT-centric mindset to deliver seamless customer experiences.
  • Exceptional communication and facilitation skills.
