About the position

The Program Manager for New Student Programs at The University of Tulsa plays a crucial role in facilitating the transition of new students into collegiate life. This position is responsible for operational logistics, management support, and collaboration to ensure a seamless and welcoming experience for incoming students. The Program Manager will work closely with various departments to enhance student engagement and success through effective programming and support services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership in orchestrating critical program events such as New Student Orientation and First-Year Experience courses.
  • Recruit leaders and manage logistics for program events, including classroom assignments and supporting presentations.
  • Collaborate with various offices to ensure a smooth transition for new students and track their participation in programs.
  • Develop training materials for leaders and stakeholders involved in New Student Programs.
  • Create and distribute marketing materials to enhance campus awareness and engagement with New Student Programs.
  • Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of program elements that support course delivery.
  • Review and assess the success of New Student Programs and recommend improvements based on feedback and data.
  • Mentor and train student workers assigned to New Student Programs.
  • Provide logistical support for office operations and engage in cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Participate in professional development to better understand the needs of students and their families.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Experience working with the Office365 Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in event planning and collaboration on teams to deliver high-quality results under challenging circumstances.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills suitable for a higher education environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Higher Education or related field.
  • Two or more years of experience working with First-Year Experience Programs or similar initiatives in higher education.
  • Competency with Colleague/Ellucian software.
  • Strong skills in creating marketing and publication materials.
  • Experience with advanced assessment measures and methodologies.
