About the position

The Program Manager will oversee the planning, direction, and success of major programs, systems development efforts, or research and technology initiatives within the Department of Defense. This role requires leveraging expertise to create and guide programs in areas lacking existing guidelines, ensuring effective execution and achievement of program objectives. The Program Manager will define, organize, and direct the program, including developing long- and short-term plans to meet program goals, while also formulating and directing the technical approach, negotiating resources, milestone schedules, and budgets with command personnel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, direction, and success of major programs and systems development efforts.
• Create and guide programs in areas without existing guidelines or policies.
• Define, organize, and direct the program, including developing long- and short-term plans.
• Formulate and direct the technical approach for program execution.
• Negotiate resources, milestone schedules, and budgets with command personnel.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
• Must be registered for Selective Service if born after 12-31-59.
• Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
• Must complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment.
• Must sign a three-year tenure agreement prior to assuming the position.
• Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area is required within established timeframes.
