About the position

We are seeking a dedicated Program Manager responsible for developing and delivering exceptional programming that ensures the Girl Scout Leadership Experience is accessible to all interested girls, gender-expansive youth, and qualified adult volunteers. This role focuses on expanding our programmatic offerings, particularly in the areas of Outdoor experience and STEM, to retain and engage members across Southeastern New England. The Program Manager will play a key role in collaborating with community organizations, creating inclusive programming, and supporting volunteers to ensure the successful delivery of the Girl Scout mission. The Program Manager will expand our programmatic offerings with a focus on Outdoor experiences and STEM. This includes creating collaboration opportunities between GSSNE and community organizations to create and expand programs across Southeastern New England. The role also involves improving the accessibility and engagement of program offerings to all Girl Scouts, ensuring inclusivity and adherence to Girl Scout best practices in safety and compliance. The Program Manager will facilitate sessions for individual girls and troops in the Outdoors and STEM areas, participate in outings with the Girl Scouts, which may include camping, hiking, outdoor adventures, and STEM programs. Additionally, the Program Manager will create and develop resources for adult volunteers to support program areas, providing comprehensive training and materials aligned with GSSNE's mission and values. Building and maintaining relationships with community groups, organizations, and individuals to expand membership, marketing, and program opportunities for Girl Scouting is also a key responsibility. The Program Manager will oversee the dynamic facilitation of outdoor programs and the camp nature center, support and oversee volunteers responsible for program delivery, and partner with internal stakeholders to support activities and programming that align with member recruitment and retention efforts.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in nonprofit management, education, environmental sciences, related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a STEM and/or outdoor sciences field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a related field such as youth development, volunteer coordination, support, teaching, or program management.
  • Proven experience in curriculum development and program management, including outcomes evaluation and analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Girl Scout members, parents, volunteers, and donors.
  • A demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within programs and the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) or a willingness to learn.
