About the position

The Program Manager (Peer Respite) at Promise Resource Network (PRN) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Peer Respite program, ensuring that trauma healing, recovery, and social justice are central to the program's mission. This role involves providing leadership and mentorship to the Respite team, managing program development, and maintaining quality control to create an inclusive and supportive environment for both guests and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and mentor Respite team members, fostering a positive and supportive work culture.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the Peer Respite, including guest check-in, ongoing support, and check-out processes.
  • Ensure program quality by applying national peer respite standards, research, and best practices.
  • Recognize the difference between a mental health crisis and an emergency, providing appropriate support or escalating as necessary.
  • Coordinate and facilitate team meetings, supervision, and training for the Respite staff.
  • Evaluate call quality and guest interactions to ensure the highest level of service and performance.
  • Work with the Program Coordinator to develop and maintain operating procedures, policies, and forms.
  • Conduct regular supervision and annual performance evaluations for Respite employees and report outcomes to the Regional Director.
  • Share your lived experiences to support the wellness and recovery of both guests and team members, honoring different recovery pathways.

Requirements

  • Current NC Certified Peer Support Specialist
  • Strong belief in the recovery potential of all people and commitment to the philosophy of peer support.
  • Ability to mentor, guide, and support a team in a peer-led environment.
  • Personal history of recovery and lived experience with crisis-based support.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities: reliability, honesty, integrity, and approachability.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including the public, providers, and community members.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, using active and reflective listening.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient with computer software applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations).
  • Valid NC Driver's License.
