About the position

The Program Manager for the Pride Center at Florida International University is responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of programs and student services that support LGBTQIA+ communities. This role involves managing university-wide student programs, supervising staff, and collaborating with various departments to enhance student engagement and support. The Program Manager will also be involved in policy development, budget management, and organizing events that promote awareness and visibility for LGBTQIA+ issues.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning and implementation of programs and student services for the Pride Center.
  • Work with CSE leadership to develop goals and objectives aligned with FIU's mission.
  • Oversee university-wide student programs and events, including hiring and training staff.
  • Support department-wide assessment and reporting functions.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Pride Center, including program development and marketing.
  • Advise on policy and strategic planning to enhance the Division of Academic and Student Affairs' goals.
  • Create and maintain partnerships with Student Affairs and academic departments.
  • Represent the Pride Center at campus-wide meetings and committees.
  • Compile and produce publications related to LGBTQIA+ programs.
  • Assist in planning signature events for the Centers for Student Engagement.
  • Support programs that provide LGBTQIA+ awareness and visibility.
  • Coordinate workshops and presentations for various offices and students.
  • Develop and maintain educational and support programs for students regarding sexual and gender identities.
  • Manage program/event learning outcomes and assessment processes.
  • Prepare periodic assessment reports for the director.
  • Supervise professional staff, graduate assistants, and student assistants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate specialization and four years of related experience, or a Master's degree in an appropriate specialization and two years of related experience.
  • Experience working with LGBTQIA+ communities is preferred.
  • Considerable knowledge of the concerns and issues of LGBTQIA+ students.
  • Experience supervising a team or project.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in student personnel, higher education administration, counseling, or a related field.
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
