About the position

The JPEO-CBRND Product Lead is responsible for overseeing a team of civilian, military, and contractor personnel, executing a full range of administrative and technical supervisory duties. This role encompasses all aspects of the acquisition process, including development, testing, system integration, production, fielding, sustainment, and product improvements, all while managing a multi-million dollar annual budget. The Product Lead collaborates with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that program execution aligns with cost, schedule, and performance goals. This position also involves overseeing Program Objective Memorandum (POM) planning, cost estimating, program planning, budgeting, program integration, and ensuring interoperability for all assigned programs. In addition to managerial responsibilities, the Product Lead applies technical knowledge and defense acquisition principles to analyze situations, identify problems, probe causes, and select appropriate courses of action for technical and functional specialists. The role requires a strong understanding of strategic product development plans and the ability to interface with high-level stakeholders to ensure that programs meet their objectives. The incumbent will lead a team of acquisition professionals, prioritizing and assigning work, assessing performance, and fostering the development of subordinates. This position is critical to the success of defense acquisition programs and requires a commitment to excellence in programmatic leadership and specialized experience in system architecture, information systems, and data management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full range of administrative and technical supervisory duties for a team of assigned personnel.
  • Manage all aspects of the acquisition process including development, testing, system integration, production, fielding, sustainment, and product improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure program execution meets cost, schedule, and performance goals.
  • Oversee POM planning, cost estimating, program planning, budgeting, program integration, and interoperability for assigned programs.
  • Apply managerial and technical knowledge to analyze situations, identify problems, and select courses of action for specialists to pursue.
  • Lead a team of acquisition professionals by prioritizing and assigning work, assessing performance, and developing subordinates.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • One year of specialized experience in defense acquisition programs.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic product development plans.
  • Experience managing all aspects of a defense acquisition program.
  • Experience interfacing with high-level stakeholders to ensure program goals are met.
  • Experience in leading a team of acquisition professionals.
