About the position

The Program Manager, Product Operations at SMA Technologies is responsible for overseeing core processes and systems within the Product Development division. This role focuses on project management of critical initiatives, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring timely delivery of projects. The Program Manager will also work to make the division data-aware and actionable, enhancing decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage critical ongoing projects to ensure alignment with organizational goals and timely delivery.
• Review and audit the current project portfolio to identify high-priority initiatives and understand project scopes, timelines, and key stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies for major initiatives.
• Lead project meetings, track progress, manage action items, and ensure projects stay on schedule and within scope.
• Establish a regular cadence for project status updates, reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders on progress and risks.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of existing reporting processes and tools to produce actionable operational reporting packs.
• Create weekly and monthly operational reports for leadership, providing insights into key performance metrics.
• Conduct a thorough review of existing processes within product operations, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
• Standardize workflows and procedures in Jira, ensuring consistent usage and alignment with agile best practices.
• Define and document a streamlined Product Operations framework, including guidelines for project management and reporting.

Requirements

• Strong experience in system management, especially with tools like Jira or similar software and project management tools.
• Proven ability to analyze data and create detailed, actionable reports.
• Demonstrated track record of successfully leading complex, cross-functional projects to completion.
• Expertise in agile methodologies and experience in navigating software development environments.
• Adept at identifying inefficiencies and implementing solutions that streamline operations and enhance productivity.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with data visualization and presenting insights to stakeholders.
• Familiarity with project management tools beyond Jira, such as Jellyfish and Gainsight.
