About the position

The Program Manager for Research at UTHealth School of Public Health in Austin, TX, is responsible for overseeing and assisting with various research and evaluation activities related to state-funded projects focused on early childhood. This role involves collaboration with the Principal Investigator and study team, managing multiple concurrent projects, and ensuring the successful execution of research initiatives. The position offers a hybrid work schedule and emphasizes the importance of employee well-being and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and assist with research and evaluation activities for multiple state-funded projects.
  • Develop interview guides, conduct and analyze interviews, and monitor statewide surveys.
  • Assist with report and manuscript preparation.
  • Provide timely updates on research and evaluation progress to the Principal Investigator.
  • Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor project progress.
  • Supervise and guide research personnel, including graduate research associates.
  • Develop and monitor IRB documents and protocols, and manage data requests to state agencies.
  • Participate in team meetings and communicate with external partners and organizations.
  • Assist in grant proposals to private foundations and governmental agencies.
  • Prepare and deliver oral presentations at community and professional meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in science or a health administration related field.
  • Five years of applicable experience in research or related fields.
  • CCRC RN License may be required depending on research.
  • Advanced level grant writing skills may be required depending on research.
  • Clinical Research Coordinator certification may be required depending on research.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with state agencies serving maternal and child health populations.
  • Knowledge of early childhood services such as ECI, home visiting, and family support.
