About the position

The Program Manager for Sales Training at Abbott is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive training programs aimed at enhancing the skills and performance of the sales team. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, along with a deep understanding of sales processes and methodologies to effectively tailor training initiatives to meet business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct an assessment to identify training needs and skill gaps within the sales team.
  • Design and develop structured training curricula that align with company sales goals and objectives.
  • Create training materials, including presentations, manuals, SOPs, e-learning modules, and role-plays relevant to training objectives.
  • Facilitate training sessions, workshops, role-plays, and meetings for sales personnel at various levels.
  • Develop and utilize assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of training and learners' comprehension.
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners to ensure training alignment with the overall business strategy.
  • Manage training resources, including materials, products, and budgets.
  • Ensure that all training materials, presentations, and educational content are prepared in compliance with medical, legal, and regulatory standards.
  • Provide coaching and support to sales representatives to reinforce training concepts and enhance individual performance.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments for improvement.

Requirements

  • Associates degree and minimum 4 years of experience.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, methodologies, and tools.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging training materials.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, sales training, sales management, or other related roles.
  • Experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or other related roles.
  • Knowledge of medical devices and healthcare industry standards.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of the MLR review process.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training software.
