About the position

Uber's Core Services Science team is seeking a Program Manager to join the Science PMO, which supports various teams across data science, analytics, product management, and engineering. The role involves facilitating a diverse portfolio of initiatives, driving program reporting, problem-solving autonomously, and ensuring effective coordination among cross-functional teams. The Program Manager will also champion continuous improvement and leverage insights to build a long-term advantage for Uber.

Responsibilities

  • Build and steer a program that includes new product launches, optimizing existing tech/processes, or enterprise system transformations.
  • Support program reporting and engagement between the Science org and partner teams, including tactical program reviews and senior management reporting.
  • Conduct analysis of issues and craft strategies for multi-year programs with general guidance from leadership.
  • Oversee the offshore analytics team to transition project work to business-as-usual (BAU).
  • Champion continuous improvement and strengthen operational efficiency by addressing key business problems.
  • Ensure effective coordination of cross-functional teams executing work within or parallel to the program.
  • Provide analytical insights that address key strategic questions for long-term advantage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience managing large and complex projects in a matrixed environment with technical stakeholders
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient with data and business intelligence tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Mixpanel, Google Data Studio)
  • Relevant program management certifications (PMP, Agile/Scrum Master, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Prosci, CCMP)

Nice-to-haves

  • Technology, Consulting, Analytics or related experience
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Deep working knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Experienced with project management tools and software (e.g., Confluence/JIRA, Google Suite, Smartsheet, Asana)
