About the position

The Program Manager - Security Design Standards at Equinix plays a crucial role in supporting Global Data Center Operations and Security teams. This position focuses on creating and maintaining technical documentation that aligns with security standards, managing security projects, and providing guidance on security systems and processes. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of security documentation and the implementation of security measures across data centers.

Responsibilities

  • Create and ensure that all technical documentation aligns with the required security standards and guidelines.
  • Produce documentation that accurately covers security-related topics, ensuring no critical information is omitted.
  • Create documentation that is easy to understand for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Meet deadlines for delivering security-related documentation.
  • Gather feedback from users and stakeholders to assess the effectiveness of the security documentation.
  • Review and update security documentation yearly to reflect changes in standards and technologies.
  • Work effectively with security teams and stakeholders to ensure accuracy in documentation.
  • Maintain a high standard of quality in all security-related documentation.
  • Provide physical security system support across AMER Equinix Data center locations.
  • Collaborate to support the implementation of changes across all Data centers for a consistent physical security program.
  • Ensure alignment with global, national, and regional stakeholders regarding security systems and policies.
  • Support operational security functions and business process system solutions.
  • Provide recommendations for improvement based on research.
  • Contribute to collection, analysis, and reporting on operational metrics.
  • Provide process and system guidance to Operations teams for security systems maintenance.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant technology and systems.
  • Recommend alterations to improve quality and efficiency of products and procedures.
  • Assist with process improvement projects.
  • Manage multiple tasks within cross-functional projects.
  • Coordinate and complete security projects, setting deadlines and monitoring progress.
  • Plan and coordinate project scheduling, budgeting, and administrative tasks.
  • Facilitate projects by conducting meetings and performing follow-ups.
  • Research and analyze data to evaluate operational difficulties and make recommendations.
  • Manage lists, libraries, and related workflow.
  • Serve as a content contributor for security systems standards and SOPs.
  • Collect recommendations/input from cross-functional groups to keep SOPs current.
  • Contribute to technical security documentation including procedures and reports.
  • Adhere to publishing procedures for documentation deployment.
  • Prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provide drawing reviews of internal and cross-functional designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a minimum of 4 years' experience in security systems installation/management.
  • Knowledge of security systems including Access Control, CCTV, Telecommunications, and Data Centers.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks as needed in a Data Center environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to travel as needed to various Equinix operating sites.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data center skills such as equipment and large-scale cabling projects.
  • Learning agility in designing and deploying integrated security systems.
  • Certifications such as PSP, CPP, or PMP are a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Revit is required.
