About the position

The Program Manager - Security Design Standards at Equinix plays a crucial role in supporting Global Data Center Operations and Security teams. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation that aligns with security standards, managing security projects, and providing guidance on design engineering and project planning for new and existing data centers. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of security systems and processes, while also contributing to process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Create and ensure that all technical documentation aligns with the required security standards and guidelines.
  • Produce documentation that accurately and comprehensively covers security-related topics, ensuring that no critical information is omitted.
  • Gather feedback from users and stakeholders to assess the effectiveness and usefulness of the security documentation.
  • Yearly review and update security documentation to reflect changes in security standards, technologies, or best practices.
  • Provide physical security system support across AMER Equinix Data center locations.
  • Collaborate with global, national, and regional stakeholders in relation to security systems, policy, procedure, and strategic direction.
  • Support operational security functions and business process system solutions, including specification standards and data integrity.
  • Provide recommendations for improvement based on research including new tools, processes, and technologies.
  • Contribute to collection, analyzing, and reporting to management on operational metrics.
  • Manage multiple tasks within cross-functional projects.
  • Coordinate and complete security projects, setting deadlines and assigning responsibilities.
  • Facilitate projects by conducting meetings and performing thorough follow-ups.
  • Research and analyze data to evaluate operational difficulties and make recommendations to solve problems.
  • Serve as a content contributor for the security systems standards, design guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOP's).
  • Adhere to publishing procedures to ensure all documentation is deployed according to established change control processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a minimum of 4 years' experience in security systems installation/management.
  • Knowledge of security systems including Access Control, CCTV, Telecommunications, and Data Centers.
  • Experience with data center skills such as equipment and large-scale cabling projects is a plus.
  • Strong command of CAD and Revit software tools and features for efficient and accurate editing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel as needed to various Equinix operating sites in the US, Canada, Central, and South America for up to a week at a time based on project needs.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP, PSP, or CPP certification is a plus.
  • Understanding of major security systems manufacturers.
  • Learning agility in designing and deploying integrated security systems including software, hardware, and network infrastructure.
