About the position

The Program Manager for the Self Determination Program at Kern Regional Center is responsible for supervising and coordinating a team of Service Coordinators and other personnel to support individuals with developmental disabilities. This role involves overseeing the Self Determination Program, assisting individuals in transitioning to this program, and identifying barriers to service delivery while collaborating to find solutions. The Program Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring effective service coordination and support for the community.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, assign, schedule, coordinate, and evaluate a group of Service Coordinators and other assigned personnel.
  • Oversee the Self Determination Program and assist individuals in SDP or transitioning to SDP.
  • Identify barriers to service delivery and work collaboratively to find solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited university.
  • Four years of increasingly responsible experience in programs serving the developmentally disabled.
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is highly desirable.
  • Two years of administrative assistant experience.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with strong overall computer skills.
  • Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide timely and responsive customer service.
  • Reliable transportation.
