About the position

The Program Manager Senior role at USAA focuses on leading expense management and coordinating workforce activities within the P&C Personal Lines Operations and Planning Team. This position is responsible for managing, executing, and delivering large-scale programs that align with organizational goals, ensuring effective governance and monitoring of program health. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in budget management and program oversight, facilitating executive-level meetings, and driving change within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Defines and maintains program strategies to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Provides input and recommendations on multi-year business plans to deliver business capabilities.
  • Facilitates meetings with executive management and project sponsors to define solutions.
  • Prepares reports for stakeholders and management, identifying risks or issues.
  • Performs analyses and root cause identification, developing key work products.
  • Negotiates agreements and settles disputes equitably.
  • Negotiates program tradeoffs with IT and the business to ensure alignment of demand to capacity.
  • Adheres to EPMO processes, procedures, controls, and standards.
  • Drives the adoption and sustainment of changes within the organization.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified and controlled.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree (total of 10 years of experience without a bachelor's degree).
  • 6 years of project and/or program management experience, including managing large-scale projects.
  • Proficient experience in project, program, or portfolio management principles.
  • Proficient knowledge of program management tools and methodologies.
  • Understanding of risk management policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of program management methodology and change management principles.
  • Experience maintaining and reporting on work effort budgets.

Nice-to-haves

  • US military experience through military service or as a military spouse/domestic partner.
  • 3 years of experience with G&A expenses or budget management.
  • 2 or more years of workforce management experience in a large organization.
  • 1 or more years of experience with executive-level communications.
  • 2 or more years of experience facilitating meetings in a professional environment.
  • 1 or more years of experience developing Tableau dashboards.
  • Ability to creatively develop award recognition programs.
