About the position

The Program Manager will lead a portfolio of projects within a business unit, ensuring successful delivery to meet or exceed stakeholder needs and expectations. This role involves the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure of related projects, with a focus on new product development (NPD) from concept to production and customer acceptance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and execution of new product development (NPD) projects from concept to production to customer acceptance.
  • Negotiate project scope, schedule, critical success factors, and define business case including Return on Investment (ROI) with project sponsors.
  • Develop cross-functional project plans, resource plans, and key deliverables with team members and stakeholders.
  • Advocate for the customer within the organization by assessing end user/customer needs and time to market.
  • Develop working knowledge of customer's workflow to ensure successful product launches.
  • Proactively develop risk mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Achieve product quality goals, time-to-market objectives, and meet product and project cost targets.
  • Assign tasks, responsibilities, and accountability to team members to achieve project and product goals.
  • Summarize financial business case including cash flow analysis, revenue roadmap, capital planning, resources required, and cost reduction roadmap to finalize project plan for NPD programs.
  • Manage and ensure discipline with the NPD and Change Management processes, tools, metrics, and schedule to achieve committed business case.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the NPD process.
  • Lead cross-functional team during critical customer issues.
  • Plan needed production capacity and ensure supplier capacity is in place.
  • Plan and lead cost reduction projects to achieve financial goals.
  • Build and leverage effective alliances across technical, business, and operations communities.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Science or Engineering preferred.
  • PMP certification required.
  • Minimum 7 years industrial experience preferred with minimum 5 years project management experience leading enterprise-wide cross-functional projects.
  • Knowledge of durable labels technology capabilities and direction preferred.
  • Knowledge of business case creation, financial plan analysis, and resource planning.
  • Experience working with demanding customers and leading teams during critical customer issues.
  • Experience interfacing with customers to capture requirements, set appropriate expectations, and resolve issues that might arise over the course of a program.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and adapt to changing project conditions/direction.
