Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science (CDU) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Student Accessibility Services (SAS) Manager to join our team. This position is crucial in ensuring that students with disabilities receive the necessary accommodations to succeed in their academic pursuits. The SAS Manager will work under the direction of the Director of Student Academic Success and will play a key role in determining student eligibility for accommodations, developing updated accessibility services, and establishing testing policies and procedures that respond to the evolving needs of our campus community. The SAS Manager will function as a moderately experienced professional, working with a moderate level of independence while ensuring compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) policies. This role involves providing training to CDU's Colleges, offering support services, identifying needed assistive technology, and updating procedures in response to campus demands. The SAS Manager will collaborate closely with the Director of SAS and the Director of Student Academic Success to deliver high-quality services that enhance the student experience and support academic success. In addition to overseeing the scheduling for accessibility test proctoring, the SAS Manager will be responsible for consulting with faculty and administration regarding access to facilities, technology, and instructional programs. This position requires maintaining accurate records related to program funding and conducting student intake interviews to assess accommodation needs. The SAS Manager will also act as a first-line responder to student and faculty issues regarding accommodations and services, ensuring that all students have equitable access to educational resources. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of disability classifications and the legal framework surrounding accommodations for students with disabilities. They will be skilled in communication, organization, and administration, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students. This position is based on-site at our Los Angeles campus and offers a budgeted salary range of $71,928 - $94,000.
