About the position

The Program Manager for Tobacco Cessation at NACDD will lead initiatives aimed at enhancing the capacity of National Tobacco Control Program recipients and partners to implement health systems changes that support tobacco cessation. This role involves coordinating a five-year cooperative agreement from the CDC, focusing on integrating tobacco dependence treatment into clinical care. The Program Manager will work closely with various stakeholders to promote health equity and address tobacco-related health disparities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate program planning, implementation, and reporting for tobacco cessation activities.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on evidence-based tobacco cessation interventions.
  • Collaborate with other program managers to ensure alignment and communication across components.
  • Manage the implementation of project activities, including training and technical assistance offerings.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with public health partners and stakeholders.
  • Support contract management activities and ensure alignment with NACDD's mission and strategic plan.
  • Utilize systems to measure and communicate the impact of project-related efforts.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Public Health or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in chronic disease prevention or health promotion programs.
  • At least three years of experience in planning and implementing tobacco control programs.
  • Experience working with CDC or federal agencies on chronic disease prevention programs.
  • Proficiency in project management and delivering training and technical assistance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in a member-based organization or nonprofit.
  • Experience in state, county, or local health departments, specifically in tobacco control programs.
  • Familiarity with advancing health equity in public health programs.
