About the position

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is seeking a Program Manager to join the team. In this position, your base of operations will be either the MFC Arlington Center Facility in Arlington Tx or the THAAD program offices located in Huntsville Alabama Space Facility. The primary mission of this role will be to assist in leading the day-to-day activities of the Upper Tier Integrated Air & Missile Defense (UTIAMD) Hardware Development and Transition to Production Team.

Responsibilities

  • Influencing the proposal, design, development and production processes to ensure new elements of THAAD ground system move into production efficiently.
  • Driving collaboration between multiple Lockheed Martin sites so that everyone's input is heard and appropriately incorporated.
  • Ensure that the transition into production is seamless and does not impact hardware delivery schedules.
  • Engage and drive Transition to Production doctrine into the development cycle and work closely with our proposal management team to include sufficient production resources in any new work for the THAAD Ground Components.
  • Participating in frequent communication and collaboration with other disciplines including various Design Engineering groups, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Finance, Production Planning and Control, Contracts and Program Management.
  • Collaborate with other Engineering disciplines on hardware layout, component evaluation, prototype construction and test to meet manufacturing rates and cost.

Requirements

  • Must have an active Interim Secret clearance to be considered.
  • Must have previous leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Electronics / Microelectronics and Wire harness assembly practices.
  • Demonstrated understanding of DFARS compliant proposal processes.
  • Exceptional communication skills in day to day teleconferences, one on one, one on many situations.
  • Independent, creative thinker capable of helping others understand production needs and an awareness of the impacts of design time and cost on achieving those needs.
  • Ability to travel on a frequent basis for durations of 3-5 days, typically once or twice per month.

  • An understanding of the Lockheed Martin, Upper Tier proposal process.
  • Demonstrated understanding of SAP MRP and how hardware procurement and production operates within the MFC enterprise.
  • Previous Transition to Production experience.
