About the position

The Program Manager for Workforce Solutions (WFS-KAMI) at Kellogg Community College is responsible for managing and coordinating activities related to the College's State of Michigan Workforce Plan grant-funded Kellogg Advanced Manufacturing Industry (KAMI) 4.0 Initiative. This role aims to help Michiganders earn skills certificates or degrees, increase access to opportunities for middle-class growth, and support business and entrepreneurial growth through talent solutions. The position involves oversight of job-training programs, ensuring instructional resources are available, and compliance with grant requirements, while also supervising career coaches and engaging with community stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate activities related to the KAMI 4.0 Initiative and ensure alignment with grant goals.
  • Provide administrative support for outreach, recruitment, curriculum development, job placement, and compliance with grant documentation.
  • Collect data and prepare progress and outcomes reports as required by the grant.
  • Supervise two full-time career coaches, conducting performance evaluations and weekly meetings.
  • Coordinate non-credit job-training instructional delivery and hire adjunct faculty as needed.
  • Develop and administer departmental policies and ensure compliance with institutional accreditation requirements.
  • Collaborate with workforce provider partners and engage with stakeholders on project teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Leadership, Management, Education, Business, or related fields from an accredited institution.
  • 3-5 years of experience in higher education, Workforce Development, and/or Program Management.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3-5 years of experience as a case manager.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with state and federal workforce grants.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with employers and community stakeholders for job placement.
