About the position

FTI is seeking a Program Manager for its Space Operations Group, responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team of over 100 FTEs, including both FTI and sub-contractor staff. The role involves driving business development efforts, providing strategic operational support, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective management. The Program Manager will also track key performance metrics and interpret customer needs to translate them into new contracts and revenue streams.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day acquisition planning by applying relevant regulations and standards, including budget development and execution.
  • Manage current and future fiscal year forecasting, tracking, and reporting to align with program goals.
  • Serve as a liaison between FTI, engineering, non-engineering departments, and senior management, ensuring program alignment and effective communication.
  • Coordinate with customers and end-users to gather data, refine objectives, and establish funding requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate program deliverables, including status reports, review meetings, and schedule updates.
  • Provide strategic guidance to leadership, technical teams, and business development on program direction.
  • Identify new opportunities within target markets, collaborating with the Business Development team to support go-to-market (GTM) strategies.
  • Leverage FTI technology tools to enhance strategic planning, modeling, decision support, and life-cycle management.
  • Lead program staff, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve program objectives.
  • Maintain industry awareness through competitive analysis and market trend tracking.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance, with eligibility to obtain a TS/SCI.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Engineering, or a related field required; a Master's degree is strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in Project/Program Management, with at least 10 years in a DoD environment.
  • Experience with DoD 5000.02, FAR, DFAR, POM, and PPBE.
  • Experience in space systems acquisition, including satellites, control and ground segments, and communication systems.
  • Proven track record in managing complex projects with cross-functional, geographically diverse teams.
  • Experience as a P&L Lead, with expertise in financial management and reporting tools such as Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Experience managing multi-task contracts and subcontracts, including leading multi-vendor environments.
  • PMP Certification is highly desired.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools, including MS Excel, for developing and presenting information.
  • Understanding of Agile development processes, specifically SAFe, and familiarity with cyber-security concepts.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills for synthesizing information into actionable plans.
  • Ability to facilitate cost-performance trade-offs and conduct business case analyses (BCA).
  • Proven experience in supporting business development efforts to expand existing projects and identify new opportunities.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills for delivering technical documents and briefings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in senior roles within relevant defense or government sectors is highly desirable.
