About the position

The Program Manager at Textron Systems is responsible for overseeing the technical, cost, and scheduling aspects of programs within the Sea Systems business area. This role ensures that all contract commitments are met while managing post-delivery support and coordinating with various stakeholders to drive program success.

Responsibilities

  • Manage SSC post-delivery technical and logistical support, including deploying field service reps and spare parts purchases.
  • Respond to requests for proposals and set up new projects while managing to budget baseline.
  • Report status and variances, planning and implementing corrections as required.
  • Manage guarantee periods for each craft sold and assess claims for validity and impact to production.
  • Drive multiple simultaneous purchasing efforts, ensuring timely delivery of parts and services to customers.
  • Present status of all efforts, plans, and challenges to internal and external customers regularly.
  • Communicate persistently with leadership and supporting organizations regarding cost, schedule, challenges, and risks.
  • Develop and obtain approval for action plans to resolve performance, budget, and schedule variances.
  • Ensure functional organizations provide timely scope of work, budget, and schedule updates.
  • Interface directly with customers, suppliers, and outside services such as consultants and legal counsel.
  • Assist in marketing and proposal efforts for U.S. and foreign customers.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the engineering sciences or a related field.
  • Seven years of experience in program management, government contracts, or management and/or administration.
  • Three years of experience working with Navy contracts is preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the importance of providing timely, quality support to customers while meeting contract requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and leverage relationships to maximize program outcomes.
  • Must be able to obtain U.S. Government Secret clearance.
