About the position

The Program Manager for Planning and Delivery will lead the Open Access Dashboards initiative within the Research Publishing team at Wiley. This role focuses on enhancing article publishing platforms, managing stakeholder engagement, and ensuring timely delivery of projects while adhering to budget and quality standards. The Program Manager will utilize Agile and Lean principles to drive efficiency and effectiveness across cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Drive delivery with a focus on on-time, on-budget, in-scope, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Maintain and iterate on the delivery roadmap to optimize value delivery and transparency.
  • Ensure continuous planning cadence for roadmap and program increment planning.
  • Manage program delivery with a customer-centric view of success criteria and measurements.
  • Identify core team needs and implement changes for optimum efficiency.
  • Translate product strategies into visual program roadmaps.
  • Make decisions supporting the strategic direction of the area.
  • Follow lean governance workflows for technology initiatives and prioritization.
  • Navigate multi-work stream programs with overlapping dependencies.
  • Establish relevant dashboards and KPIs for decision making and transparency.
  • Communicate project status, resource needs, and priorities to cross-functional teams and senior management.
  • Collaborate with teams to build trust and solve problems across business units.
  • Provide periodic status reports to executive leadership.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of program/project management experience in software development in an Agile environment.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and traditional project management; integration and user interface projects required.
  • Experience with SAFe framework is advantageous.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships across the organization.
  • Strategic and tactical thinking skills for program success through consensus and team building.
  • Detail-oriented with multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lead and function as a member of a core leadership group.
  • Comfortable with rapid development cycles and uncertainty.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Results-focused with teamwork, collaboration, and accountability in a matrix organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Jira; exposure to Aha is valuable.
  • Superior presentation and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in business preferred.
