About the position

The Program Manager at EMCOM Inc. is responsible for overseeing project and program management, ensuring that projects are executed effectively and meet the changing needs of the organization. This role involves managing day-to-day operations, project accounting, financial management, business development, and customer communication, while also leading and mentoring team members to achieve their goals.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet the changing needs and requirements of the project.
  • Identifies resources needed and coordinates with departmental leadership as necessary.
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
  • Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing on to customer.
  • Follows standard methods and practices with project design, development, and execution.
  • Prepares for customer reviews and quality assurance procedures.
  • Applies change, risk, and resource management on a project.
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately.
  • Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on a weekly basis.
  • Manages project budget and determines appropriate revenue recognition.
  • Ensures timely and accurate invoicing and monitors receivables for project.
  • Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, rates and utilization.
  • Understands basic revenue models, P/L and cost-to-completion projections and makes decisions accordingly.
  • Leads quoting analysis and acts as primary customer interface on new projects and programs.
  • Identifies business development and follow-on sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project.
  • Facilitates team and customer meetings effectively and holds regular status meetings with project team.
  • Keeps project team well informed of changes within the organization and general customer news.
  • Delivers engaging, informative, well organized presentations.
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Program Manager or other managerial position.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office; knowledge of ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to inspire co-workers.
  • Ability to manage the development of team members and align project tasks with their career interests.
  • General understanding of electronics and contract manufacturing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project accounting and financial management.
  • Familiarity with customer management and relationship building.
