About the position

The Program Manager at York Space Systems will lead the development and execution of critical aerospace programs, ensuring successful outcomes from inception to completion. This role involves overseeing scheduling, costs, and technical performance across multiple programs while managing budgets, proposals, and contracts. The Program Manager will also serve as the primary contact for day-to-day operations and will build strategic relationships within the industry to drive growth.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact for customers, ensuring clear communication and adherence to program scope.
• Collaborate across departments, including Contracts, Supply Chain, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Production, and Finance, to ensure on-time delivery and alignment with contractual commitments.
• Effectively communicate workstreams to senior leadership and customers.
• Manage contract changes by clearly outlining the scope, schedule, and cost implications.
• Oversee multiple programs simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
• Identify and assess program risks, communicating mitigation strategies to senior leadership.
• Work closely with customers on proposals, contracts, reviews, and technical performance milestones.
• Deliver engaging presentations and foster strong interpersonal relationships with customers, with the ability to tactfully manage expectations.
• Lead full-lifecycle satellite development, from initial proposal to payload integration and launch.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, science, or a related technical field (a business degree with aerospace or production experience may be considered).
• 6+ years of experience as a program manager, preferably in aerospace or a related field.
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills with a proactive approach to managing complex projects.
• Must be eligible for and able to maintain U.S. security clearance.
