About the position

The Program Manager at the City of Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency is responsible for implementing and managing economic housing and community development programs. This role involves working on initiatives related to single and multi-family housing, home repair, rehabilitation, weatherization, and citywide planning efforts. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and community-based organizations to ensure effective program delivery and compliance with federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with drafting program design materials, policies, and procedures for economic and community development.
• Prepare for regular team meetings as a key member of multiple programs.
• Provide assistance to community-based organizations in managing and executing program pipelines and eligibility verifications.
• Develop and administer training and assistance programs as needed, maintaining positive relationships with production partners.
• Coordinate monitoring of ineligible participants to inform future program design and resource allocations.
• Complete reviews for funding, evaluation, or implementation of projects in compliance with federal systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or an associate's degree with 3 years of relevant experience in a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in community, housing, and/or economic development program management and administration.
• Knowledge of mortgage loan principles, including processing, deeds, title searches, and credit procedures.
• Customer service experience and knowledge of federal and state housing programs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
