About the position

The Program Manager will lead significant subcontracts for a large system of systems space vehicle and ground station programs, ensuring that subcontractors meet cost, schedule, and technical requirements. This role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, negotiating subcontracts, overseeing personnel, and creating procurement plans to mitigate risks while supporting program reviews and monitoring supplier performance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to significant subcontracts for space vehicle and ground station programs.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary team efforts to ensure subcontractors meet objectives.
  • Interface with suppliers' ongoing programs and projects.
  • Negotiate subcontracts with suppliers, ensuring appropriate terms and conditions.
  • Oversee the supervision of personnel, including selection, work allocation, training, and development.
  • Motivate, coach, and mentor employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
  • Create and implement successful procurement plans that proactively address risk.
  • Support all milestone program reviews, including leading dry-runs and rehearsals.
  • Monitor supplier schedule progress, cost performance, and risks monthly.
  • Prepare monthly program financial reports for management review.
  • Develop accurate presentations and reports for internal management and customer reviews.
  • Track and report visual metrics, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Requirements

  • Program management experience with subcontract engagements.
  • Experience in manufacturing within the space, aerospace, defense, military, or automotive sectors.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Jira, MS Excel, and Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Technical partnership experience with engineers (Mechanical, Electrical, Software).
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and supervision abilities.
  • Experience in risk management and problem-solving.
