About the position

The Program Manager at the Montana Association of Conservation Districts (MACD) is responsible for leading and managing various conservation programs and grants. This role involves ensuring compliance with federal and state standards, developing new programs, and maintaining relationships with partners and stakeholders. The position offers opportunities for growth and creativity, with training provided by MACD.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of programs and grants, ensuring compliance with standards and accurate reporting of expenses.
  • Lead program development and planning activities, including writing grant applications.
  • Support staff and programs in identifying additional funding opportunities.
  • Coordinate the MACD Programs Work Group.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with member districts and partners, including NRCS and DNRC.
  • Communicate regularly with funders and partners about programs and collaborations.
  • Provide administrative oversight for MACD field staff, including check-ins and approval of timesheets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Natural Resources or a comparable field.
  • 2-6 years of experience in program and/or grant management.
  • Ability to work outside standard office hours when needed.
  • Valid motor vehicle driver's license and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word, with a willingness to learn Wordpress.

  • Experience with Montana natural resources and rural communities.

  • Open to learning new software packages and management tools.
