About the position

The Tobacco Program Manager (TPM) at Gulfcoast North Area Health Education Center, Inc. (GNAHEC) is responsible for overseeing the Tobacco Free Florida AHEC Cessation Program. This role involves implementing and monitoring tobacco-related policies and services, training cessation facilitators, and conducting tobacco cessation services across a five-county area. The TPM will collaborate with healthcare systems to promote evidence-based tobacco use treatment strategies and support community efforts for tobacco-free environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist the CEO in overseeing the Tobacco Free Florida AHEC Cessation Program.
• Implement and monitor tobacco-related policies, protocols, and services.
• Coordinate and maintain training for cessation facilitators and tobacco program staff.
• Plan, conduct, and evaluate tobacco cessation services in the service area.
• Identify and coordinate with healthcare delivery systems for systems change initiatives.
• Train healthcare providers and facilitate tobacco prevention education.
• Support community efforts to create and sustain tobacco-free environments.

Requirements

• Master's degree in health/public health, social service, education, counseling, or mental health related field (preferred).
• Bachelor's degree with significant experience in behavioral health, tobacco prevention, and health promotion (considered).
• 2 years of program management experience (required).
• Experience in group facilitation and counseling.
• Experience in marketing and promotion activities.
• Excellent communication, organization, and planning skills.
• Knowledge of strategic planning and adult education.
• Proficiency in word processing, database management, PowerPoint, and online technologies.
• Bilingual skills in Spanish (preferred).
• Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation.
