About the position

The Program Manager at Gang Alternative Inc. is responsible for overseeing the Male Youth Mentorship Program, a community-driven initiative aimed at preventing violence against women and girls. This role involves managing program operations, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, and fostering relationships with community partners. The Program Manager will also supervise staff, prepare reports, and engage in outreach efforts to promote the program.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising program staff and providing oversight on program planning and implementation.
  • Ensuring compliance with program and grant requirements.
  • Preparing program reports, including those required by funders.
  • Managing outreach and mentorship initiatives related to violence prevention and intervention.
  • Staying updated on emerging trends and best practices in violence prevention.
  • Maintaining relationships with vendors, consultants, and partner organizations.
  • Representing the organization in meetings with affinity groups, particularly in reentry and workforce development.
  • Promoting an inclusive and supportive environment for program participants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience in youth mentorship programming.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Commitment to ending violence against women and girls.
  • Ability to prepare federal grant reports and correspondence required by funders.
  • Experience in community outreach for program recruitment and public awareness.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Access to a licensed, insured personal vehicle for work-related travel.
