About The Position

The Program Manager will oversee cancer control initiatives, coordinating outreach and training activities while working closely with staff to respond to technical assistance requests. This role requires experience in public health initiatives within tribal communities and aims to enhance the capacity of the National Network through effective program management and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in public health or a relevant field preferred; bachelor's degree required.
  • 3-6 years of experience in a similar role, particularly in a supervisory capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams and interpersonal relations effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver public presentations and respond to questions.
  • Ability to adapt to varied work schedules, including weekends and emergencies.
  • Experience working in tribal communities is essential.
  • Exhibit ethical and professional behavior in all aspects of the position.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a team-based environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with social marketing and media development.
  • Non-commercial tobacco user preferred.
  • American Indian/Alaska Native candidates preferred.
  • Veteran's preference will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the functions of the National Network Driving Action (NNDA) and achieve yearly program objectives.
  • Utilize resources from the granting agency to strengthen and develop the program.
  • Collaborate with the program director and evaluator to implement data collection policies and train staff as needed.
  • Conduct quality checks on training and technical assistance provided to grantees.
  • Develop partnerships and collaborations with the National Network and grantees to improve services.
  • Assist in developing and implementing trainings, resources, webinars, and communication plans for the project.
  • Monitor program success in collaboration with the Program Director.
  • Supervise staff and consultants of NNDA as needed.
  • Facilitate virtual planning sessions for the advisory committee.
