About the position

The Program Manager will lead significant subcontracts for a large system of systems space vehicle and ground station programs, ensuring that subcontractors meet cost, schedule, and technical requirements. This role involves coordinating multidisciplinary team efforts, negotiating subcontracts, and overseeing personnel management to achieve peak productivity and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to significant subcontracts for space vehicle and ground station programs.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary team efforts to ensure subcontractors meet objectives.
  • Interface with suppliers' ongoing programs and projects.
  • Negotiate subcontracts with suppliers, ensuring appropriate terms and conditions.
  • Oversee the supervision of personnel, including selection, work allocation, training, and development.
  • Motivate, coach, and mentor employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
  • Create and implement successful procurement plans that address risk and support contract deliverable requirements.
  • Support all milestone program reviews, including leading dry-runs and rehearsals.
  • Monitor supplier schedule progress, cost performance, and risks monthly.
  • Prepare monthly program financial reports for management review.
  • Develop accurate presentations and reports for internal management and customer reviews.
  • Track and report visual metrics, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Requirements

  • Experience in program management with subcontract engagements.
  • Background in manufacturing within the space, aerospace, defense, military, or automotive sectors.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Jira, MS Excel, and Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Technical partnership experience with engineers (Mechanical, Electrical, Software).
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
  • Negotiation and supervision experience.
  • Ability to motivate and mentor personnel.
  • Risk management and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in the aerospace and defense industries.
  • Familiarity with satellite design and production processes.
