About the position

The Program Manager for Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management (DSM) at PPL Electric Utilities is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex energy efficiency and demand response programs aimed at residential, low-income, and non-residential customers. This role focuses on helping customers save money, enhancing customer satisfaction, and achieving the company's business and regulatory objectives. The position may also involve overseeing programs related to electric vehicles, electrification, and distributed energy resources.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, deliver, and manage energy efficiency and demand response programs to meet customer needs and regulatory objectives.
  • Manage an annual budget of approximately $5 to $25 million.
  • Lead a cross-functional team to ensure program implementation within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Identify, develop, coordinate, negotiate, and manage contracts for program implementation.
  • Assist in planning and developing the multi-year Energy Efficiency/DSM plan.
  • Develop marketing and advertising plans to enhance program performance.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential program participants and improve program effectiveness.
  • Design and manage program performance metrics and reporting processes to monitor program success.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and documentation for program eligibility and savings calculations.
  • Supervise program support personnel as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, communications, engineering, or a technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in energy efficiency/DSM programs or utility experience.
  • Strong knowledge of energy efficiency program best practices and evaluation methods.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or other graduate degree in business, marketing, communications, or a technical discipline.
  • 5+ years in the development and management of energy-related products and services.
  • Experience in developing budgets and financial plans.
