About the position

The Program Officer for Strategy - Evaluation & Analysis at PCORI plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's mission by contributing to the design and implementation of evaluation strategies. This position focuses on analyzing PCORI's award portfolio, facilitating data-driven decision-making, and coordinating high-profile projects that inform key stakeholders about PCORI's progress and impact. The role emphasizes collaboration, technical expertise, and the ability to synthesize complex information to support organizational learning and evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and maintenance of PCORI's portfolio coding and reporting framework.
  • Lead and collaborate on the establishment and maintenance of baseline systems of portfolio coding for use in portfolio analyses and reporting.
  • Consult with PCORI staff on recommendations for coding and describing complex aspects of PCORI's funded portfolio.
  • Plan and lead ad hoc, deep-dive analyses on the funded portfolio.
  • Co-lead the development of guidance, products, and processes that support portfolio reporting and analytic needs.
  • Manage vendors conducting work in support of portfolio coding and reporting activities.
  • Provide counsel to the Associate Director and other leaders on enterprise-wide portfolio reporting and analysis needs.
  • May lead matrixed teams or oversee the work of Program Associates performing coding or analytic activities.

Requirements

  • Expertise in evaluation concepts to support portfolio analysis such as research design and data management.
  • Experience or leadership potential related to evaluation and analysis.
  • Expertise in communicating about data, including data visualization or performance metrics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills tailored to various audiences.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to synthesize material and identify major opportunities in specific areas.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills to work effectively with diverse staff members.
  • Sound judgment and maturity in professional interactions.
  • Ability to link organizational goals to individual unit missions.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $100,209 - $145,167
