About the position

The World Bank is seeking two Program Officers to support the management and administration of the State and Peacebuilding Fund (SPF) and the Global Concessional Financing Facility (GCFF). These roles are crucial in addressing the challenges of fragility, conflict, and violence (FCV) in developing countries, contributing to the World Bank Group's mission of ending extreme poverty and promoting shared prosperity. The Program Officers will work closely with various stakeholders to enhance the impact of strategic and programmatic approaches in FCV-affected countries, ensuring effective management of funds and fostering partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the review of grant proposals, funding requests, progress and completion reports, and results and deliverables for SPF.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the development of proposals supporting key SPF Focus Areas.
  • Support the work of the SPF Technical Secretariat and the technical advisory committee.
  • Facilitate governance structures with internal and external partners.
  • Promote knowledge production and dissemination of lessons learned from SPF-funded activities.
  • Lead inputs and drafting for SPF annual reports.
  • Support the implementation of SPF's focus on financing work in frontier areas in FCV.
  • Support partnership building activities and stakeholder outreach.
  • Prepare and produce progress reports and annual reports for SPF.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (Master or PhD) in social sciences or management.
  • At least five years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with the World Bank and the FCV agenda.
  • Experience working with trust funds, particularly WB-administered umbrella trust funds and Financial Intermediary Funds (FIFs).
  • Experience with portfolio monitoring and quality assurance processes.
  • Excellent organizational and management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and diplomatic skills.
  • Personal integrity and ability to handle confidential matters discreetly.
