About the position

The Program Operations & Data Analyst position at CORE Community Organized Relief Effort is a full-time role based in Los Angeles, CA, designed to support various programs across California. Under the supervision of the Area Director, the analyst will assist with both administrative and operational duties, focusing on data collection and analysis. This role is crucial for the success of programs aimed at enhancing climate resilience, disaster preparedness, and public health initiatives. The analyst will engage in a variety of tasks that include collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing data to support teams working to reduce gaps in public health and emergency preparedness. In addition to data-related responsibilities, the analyst will coordinate meetings, manage sensitive data logistics, and maintain organized departmental files. They will also assist in onboarding new staff, serve as a liaison between California programs and various departments such as finance and HR, and help maintain an internal tracking system for program expenses. The role requires participation in weekly and bi-weekly meetings, as well as the implementation of social media strategies to enhance community engagement online. The analyst will be expected to identify social media trends and coordinate content with the social media manager, ensuring that all programs are effectively represented online. This position is entry-level, making it suitable for candidates who are looking to start their careers in data analysis and program support. The analyst will need to demonstrate strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and experience with statistical software such as STATA or SPSS. The role also requires flexibility and adaptability to a frequently changing environment, as well as a keen attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and synthesize data for programming across the State of California, supporting teams focused on reducing gaps in public health, emergency preparedness and mitigation, and other relevant fields.
  • Schedule and coordinate staff meetings and other meetings.
  • Coordinate pick up and delivery of sensitive data.
  • Organize and maintain department files, electronic and physical.
  • Organize and coordinate supplies from our field operations teams.
  • Assist in onboarding new programs staff.
  • Serve as administrative liaison for California programs with finance, communication, logistics, and HR departments.
  • Maintain internal tracking system for all programs expenses to facilitate the approval of invoices.
  • Help prepare reports and grant applications.
  • Assist in making budget modifications and reviewing financial reports.
  • Attend programs' weekly meetings, bi-weekly leadership meetings, and bi-weekly social media meetings.
  • Implement social media platforms' content strategies to build community online.
  • Identify and interpret social media trends.
  • Plan and coordinate social media posts for all programs with the social media manager.
  • Provide administrative support to programs staff as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School degree or GED is essential.
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field is desired.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Entry level position with commensurate working experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Work proactively and demonstrate academic or professional experience working with data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (including MS Word, Excel, and SharePoint).
  • Ability to create charts, graphs, VLOOKUP, and pivot tables on Excel.
  • Demonstrated experience in STATA, SPSS or other statistical software.
  • Flexible and adaptive to a frequently changing environment.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Close attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Bilingual in Spanish or another language preferable.
