About the position

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Program/Project Coordinator, Senior (Community Engagement Plan - Human Services) within the Equity and Community Investment Division. This role is pivotal in administering large-scale programs and projects that have a significant impact across the County. The successful candidate will work independently under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop, implement, and facilitate a comprehensive Community Engagement Plan for the Broward County Human Services Department (HSD). This involves direct collaboration with HSD Administration, Division Directors, and their staff to foster and maintain relationships with community members, organizations, and stakeholders, thereby promoting collaboration and engagement across various human services areas including Community Partnerships, Housing, Elderly and Veterans Services, Crisis Intervention, and Family Success Administration. The candidate will be expected to lead and facilitate professional development training and workshops focused on Community Engagement Best Practices, understanding local communities, and co-facilitating grant and proposal workshops. A key aspect of this role is to identify needs, gaps, and opportunities within the community, particularly in the Broward Municipal Services District, and to create meaningful connections that allow for the co-creation of ideas and services. The position requires attendance at community meetings, forums, health fairs, and cultural events to promote HSD services and communicate community needs effectively. Additionally, the candidate will provide wraparound support to the Human Services Department, assisting with the Commissioners Response System (CRS) and ensuring that client conditions are monitored and improved post-service. This role also involves working closely with community engagement contacts to plan outreach activities aimed at connecting with underserved populations and encouraging their participation in available programs.
