About the position

The Program/Project Coordinator at Kansas State University plays a pivotal role in managing the Learning Assistant Program. This position is responsible for supporting, training, and supervising undergraduate student leaders involved in the K-State First Learning Assistant program. The coordinator will also lead and support various initiatives aimed at enhancing student success, which includes coursework, teaching, and the supervision of graduate assistants, practicum students, and interns. The role is integral to the growth and development of the program, which has expanded significantly since its inception in 2008, now serving over 2,000 students annually. In addition to managing the Learning Assistant Program, the coordinator will engage in program planning, implementation, assessment, and continuous improvement efforts. This includes collaborating with faculty and staff to ensure the program meets the needs of students and aligns with the university's educational goals. The coordinator will also be involved in data management and analysis, utilizing student data systems such as KSIS and Canvas to track student progress and program effectiveness. The position requires a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, as Kansas State University actively seeks individuals who can foster a collegial environment and promote cooperative interactions among coworkers and students. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the Learning Assistant Program.
  • Support, train, and supervise undergraduate student leaders in the K-State First Learning Assistant program.
  • Lead and support efforts in Student Success coursework.
  • Teach and supervise graduate assistants, practicum students, and interns.
  • Plan, implement, assess, and improve programs related to student success.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to align program goals with university objectives.
  • Utilize student data systems for tracking and analysis of student progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; educational equivalency may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of applicable experience in higher education.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated success in teaching, advising, and/or leading undergraduates.
  • Experience with planning, implementing, assessing, and improving programs.
  • Experience with student data systems (i.e., KSIS, Canvas).
  • Collaborative leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and related software.
