About the position

The Program Quality Control Manager at Leidos is responsible for overseeing and implementing quality assurance and control procedures within the Aerospace Systems sector, specifically for the Hypersonic program. This role aims to create a safe and efficient operating environment by ensuring compliance with various aerospace standards and regulations, while also driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Implement a Quality Control system that promotes customer satisfaction.
  • Champion quality activities for all Manufacturing operations and product approvals.
  • Manage and oversee a large team of quality control personnel on a daily basis.
  • Plan quality control staffing needs based on product manufacturing requirements.
  • Establish and implement metrics for monitoring Quality Control system effectiveness.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and problem-solving activities to identify corrective actions.
  • Develop quality planning methods for all product lines within the plant.
  • Initiate and implement quality improvement activities such as Kaizen and Six Sigma.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits and collaborate with quality assurance organizations.
  • Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives regarding quality control issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and eight (8) years of relevant experience, or a Master's with six (6) years of relevant experience.
  • Ten (10+) years of experience in QA/QC systems implementation and/or management in a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001 requirements.
  • Experience reviewing requirements on contracts and resources needed to comply with contracts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience leading large teams of quality professionals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with hypersonic systems or space systems.
  • Willingness to travel, typically no more than 25%.
