About the position

Dauphin County Department of Mental Health, Autism, and Developmental Programs is currently accepting applications for the full-time Program Specialist 2, AOT/ Forensic Coordinator. The Program Specialist 2 for Mental Health Court Commitment/Forensic Coordinator is responsible for oversight of all services and programs related to the forensic population and court systems including: facilitating the start-up and continuing implementation of the County Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) program, coordination of all involuntary commitments and follow up care, and participation in work groups tasked with ensuring justice-involved individuals receive the services necessary to prevent recidivism and foster future success. This position works in collaboration with others in the department to develop contracts with and monitor providers of mental health services. The work is performed with a high degree of independence, initiative, and decision-making. This position reports directly to the Deputy Mental Health Administrator.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of all services and programs related to the forensic population and court systems.
  • Facilitating the start-up and continuing implementation of the County Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) program.
  • Coordination of all involuntary commitments and follow up care.
  • Participation in work groups to ensure justice-involved individuals receive necessary services.
  • Collaboration with department staff to develop contracts with and monitor providers of mental health services.

Requirements

  • Two years of professional clinical level experience in mental health.
  • A graduate degree in social sciences or related field.
  • One of the following Pennsylvania licensures: LMFT, LCSW, LPC, LMSW.
  • Valid driver’s license and positive driving record.
  • Favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances, and favorable references.
