About the position

The Program Specialist (Intern Program Coordinator) position is located in the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection (DCP) within the Administrative Management Services (AMS) Section. The role focuses on supporting the monitoring and development of Financial Institution Specialists (FIS), Financial Management Scholars (FMS), and Financial Institution Interns (FII) as they progress through their respective programs. This position involves providing oversight, coordinating training, and ensuring that participants develop the necessary skills to support the corporation's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent support and developmental oversight to Financial Management Scholars throughout their program.
  • Coordinate and participate in conferences and meetings related to program matters.
  • Develop and recommend changes to administrative policies and procedures to improve program operations.
  • Build strong relationships with functional supervisors and handle sensitive tasks while monitoring program participant progress.
  • Analyze and evaluate major administrative aspects of the Entry Level Examiner Hiring Program.
  • Support the acculturation of program participants through personal interactions and presentations.
  • Develop informational and training materials and provide guidance to other class liaisons.
  • Communicate regularly with program participants regarding requirements and individual progress.
  • Identify existing or potential problem areas and recommend corrective actions.

Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the CG-12 grade level in the Federal service.
  • Experience leading and coordinating projects, including establishing expectations and providing guidance to team members.
  • Ability to handle sensitive, controversial, or confidential material or issues.
  • Knowledge of management practices, including EEO, diversity, training, and labor relations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developing training materials and presenting information in a learning setting.
  • Knowledge of FDIC's primary business functions and how they interrelate.
