About the position

The Program Specialist at the New Product Development Center (NPDC) of Oklahoma State University plays a crucial role in supporting the development and commercialization of product concepts for Oklahoma manufacturers, entrepreneurs, and inventors. This position involves collaboration with NPDC staff and cross-campus resources to manage multi-disciplinary projects, engage with stakeholders, and liaise with state and federal agencies. The specialist will assist in developing office policies, program processes, and provide operational administrative support, ensuring the success of grant and industry-funded programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the director and associate director in developing office policy and program processes.
  • Provide day-to-day operational administrative support including financial reconciliation, purchasing, travel, and human resources needs.
  • Engage with cross-campus resources and develop effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Liaise with state and federal agencies to ensure the long-term success of the NPDC.
  • Assist in the development, planning, budgeting, promotion, execution, and evaluation of NPDC's grant and industry-funded programs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Four years of work experience, with post-secondary education substitutable for experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Public relations skills and project coordination experience.

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • One year of experience in project and program coordination activities.
  • Experience with financial systems and processes.
  • Experience in coordinating public relations and communications activities.
