About the position

The Program Support Assistant (OA) position is located within the Readjustment Counseling Service and is primarily responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to a multi-disciplinary team that assists veterans with readjustment issues. The incumbent serves as the sole administrative support on-site, managing various administrative, fiscal, and supply functions essential for the effective operation of the Vet Center team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Vet Center team, including managing correspondence and inquiries via phone, email, and mail.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite to create documents, presentations, and spreadsheets, and maintain databases for Vet Center data.
  • Ensure all office equipment is operational and coordinate repairs or replacements as necessary.
  • Maintain a welcoming environment in the front lobby, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  • Develop and maintain tracking systems for assigned programs or projects, and assist staff with copying, scanning, and faxing as needed.
  • Create and maintain promotional materials such as brochures and pamphlets in compliance with branding guidelines.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in federal service, involving administrative tasks and use of word processing software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience in managing databases and creating reports using various software tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a healthcare or counseling environment.
  • Familiarity with veteran services and support programs.
