About the position

As a Programmatic Sales Account Director at Bloomberg Media, you will play a pivotal role in the continued development of the US Programmatic Market, which is experiencing record-breaking growth. This position is designed for a passionate and experienced individual who will manage programmatic demand partners, including client in-house teams and agencies. You will work closely with sales and ad operations to ensure that campaigns are set up for optimal growth and success. Reporting directly to the Global Head of Programmatic Sales, you will be responsible for directing the foundation set by our Global Programmatic team and scaling its strategy across various functions including sales, marketing, ad operations, and data. In this role, you will be expected to develop high-value relationships with leading trading teams at both holding companies and independent agencies. Your responsibilities will include generating a high volume of sales-related activities such as cold calling, presentations, and responding to RFPs. You will identify new trading opportunities to drive significant revenue growth across Private Auction, Preferred Deal, and Programmatic Guaranteed deals. Additionally, you will analyze what buyers and advertisers are bidding on Bloomberg inventory and work to elevate them into upper funnel tactics. You will need to be self-motivated, utilizing research and data analysis to translate opportunities into closed business. Conducting sales presentations to key clients at all levels will be a regular part of your responsibilities. Collaboration is key, as you will work in tandem with US sales representatives to support programmatic growth and identify new business opportunities while nurturing existing partnerships. Your role will also involve ensuring that programmatic is well understood and embraced across the organization, enabling the direct sales team to effectively sell programmatic solutions. Providing exceptional customer service by working closely with account management to maximize campaign performance and renewal business will be essential. Responsibilities

  • Develop high value relationships with leading trading teams at both holding companies and independent agencies.
  • Generate a high volume of sales related activity including cold calling, presentations, RFP's, etc.
  • Identify new trading opportunities to drive significant revenue growth across Private Auction, Preferred Deal and Programmatic Guaranteed deals.
  • Analyze what buyers and advertisers are bidding on Bloomberg inventory and move them up the value chain into upper funnel tactics.
  • Prospect through researching and analyzing data points to translate opportunities into closed business.
  • Prepare and conduct sales presentations to key clients at all levels.
  • Work in tandem with US sales reps to consult and support programmatic growth within their practice.
  • Ensure programmatic is evangelized across the organization and that the direct sales team feels enabled to sell programmatic.
  • Provide white glove customer service by working closely with account management to maximize campaign performance, spend, and renewal business.

Requirements

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with an understanding of industry trends regarding agency trading desks and programmatic media buying strategies.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets in digital and/or programmatic advertising sales.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Client-service and collaborative oriented mentality with a tremendous desire to drive revenue growth.
  • Demonstrated relationship-building skills that extend to internal programmatic team members in pre and post-sales.
  • Thorough understanding of programmatic channels and ecosystem at the agency and brand level, as well as SSPs and DSPs.
  • Experience managing, developing, and breaking programmatic business within the finance category is preferable.
  • Strong background in video, audience and data ecosystem, ad-server logistics, auction dynamics.
  • Shown success launching large-scale programmatic campaigns.
  • Nurturing and development of existing talent within the programmatic team.
