About the position
The Programmer 5 position is designed for an experienced developer with a strong background in .NET and Java. The role involves working in an agile environment, collaborating with project managers and developers to gather requirements, design applications, and provide technical support. The consultant will be responsible for developing new applications and maintaining legacy systems, utilizing a variety of technologies including .NET, C#, Java, and SQL Server.
Responsibilities
- Develop new applications and support legacy systems using .NET, C#, Java, and SQL Server.
- Collaborate with project managers and developers on requirements gathering and application design.
- Conduct testing and deployment of applications.
- Provide technical support for existing applications.
- Port Java code to C# as needed.
Requirements
- 10+ years as a .NET Web Developer, including 4+ years with ASP.NET Core MVC.
- 10+ years with C# and SQL Server.
- 2+ years with Java and .NET Core or .NET 8.
- 5+ years with RESTful APIs, WCF, and Entity Framework.
- Experience with TFS/Azure DevOps and creating UI mock-ups.
- Understanding of SOA and N-tier environments.
- Experience with AJAX and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and Test Driven Development (TDD).
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Familiarity with Azure/AWS, ETL, containers, and Power BI.
- MCPD certification and experience with jQuery and JavaScript.
