About the position

The Programmer Analyst II position at Portland Community College focuses on supporting and programming systems related to Academic Affairs and Student Affairs. This role involves troubleshooting complex data issues, designing and implementing reports, and serving as a consultant during the development of business processes. The position is primarily remote with occasional in-person meetings, and it requires collaboration with various stakeholders across the college.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot complex data issues and assess potential data-focused solutions.
  • Design and implement reports and data extracts for diverse higher education needs.
  • Serve as a consultant and technical expert during the development of complex business processes and procedures.
  • Support and program systems with large database designs.
  • Translate user requirements into user-accepted solutions.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a computer-related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of experience in complex systems design, programming, and systems software support.
  • Experience with SQL and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and manage time effectively.
  • Good oral and written communication skills for various audiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in Higher Education.
  • Experience with Oracle SQL and Banner ERP.
  • Familiarity with additional higher education information systems such as Workday ERP, DegreeWorks, Slate, Navigate360, CampusGroups, and/or Symplicity.
  • Experience with FERPA protected data and systems integrations.
