About the position

The Programmer Analyst III - EDI at Atrius Health is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing new systems or changes in existing data processing systems to support management control and decision-making activities. This role involves analyzing information needs, solving complex problems, and providing technical direction for projects. The position requires a high level of programming and systems analysis skills, with an emphasis on independent work and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and implement new systems or changes in existing data processing systems.
  • Analyze information needs for current and planned management functions.
  • Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems.
  • Design, code, and test complex systems.
  • Coordinate the application of information systems techniques to current and anticipated system needs.
  • Provide work leadership and direction to lower-level analysts.
  • Independently produce code and identify root causes of issues.
  • Work with the business community to analyze user needs for information.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of defined system applications and document findings.
  • Define requirements for improving or replacing systems.
  • Assist users with day-to-day problems occurring in programs or databases.
  • Initiate, oversee, and coordinate programming and analysis projects across multiple functional areas.
  • Participate in the selection of new information hardware and ensure systems meet corporate requirements.
  • Establish and adhere to change-control procedures for the system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent education, training, or experience.
  • Five to seven years of progressively responsible programming experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of programming analysis and design.
  • Good understanding of current information systems or similar installations.
  • Ability to listen to user needs and translate them into user-friendly systems.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of programming and analysis, including design factors and execution protocols.
  • Knowledge of more than one 4th generation programming language.
